Privacy Policy

Launchcast is built by Fera Tech. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Information we collect

When you sign in

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. You can also use the app fully without signing in (anonymous mode). Anonymous users get a randomly-generated ID stored locally on your device.

When you use the app

We collect:

• Your interests (which space topics you care about)
• Your alert preferences (which launches notify you, when)
• Your bookmarks, follows, predictions, and mission patches
• Coarse location (city-level only) for ISS overhead pass calculations
• Device push notification token so we can send you launch alerts
• Anonymized usage analytics (which features you use, session length)
• Crash reports to fix bugs

When you subscribe

We use RevenueCat and Apple's StoreKit to process subscriptions. We see your subscription status (active or expired) but Apple processes the actual payment. We never see your payment card details.

How we use your information

• Personalize your launch feed and notifications
• Send you launch and ISS overhead alerts
• Calculate your Commander rank, streak, and patches
• Improve the app via aggregated analytics
• Fix crashes and bugs

Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect precise GPS location.
• We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone data, or health data.
• We do not collect your browsing or search history outside our app.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Third parties

We use these services to run the app:

• Supabase — secure cloud storage for your account data
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — to deliver alerts
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Anthropic (Claude) — powers the Mission Control AI assistant. Your AI questions are sent to Anthropic to generate answers. We do not link these to your identity.
• Sentry — anonymous crash reporting

We have data processing agreements with all of these providers. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Your rights

You can:

• Delete your account anytime in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data within 30 days.
• Export your data by emailing support@fera-tech.com. We respond within 14 days.
• Disable notifications in Settings → Notifications.
• Opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy.

If you are in the EU or UK, GDPR gives you additional rights including the right to access, rectify, and object to processing of your data. Contact support@fera-tech.com to exercise these rights.

Children

Launchcast is rated 4+ and safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
